FAQS

How does shipping or drop off work?

LOCAL: I am located in New Berlin, Wisconsin. If you are interested in drop-off here are things to know:

  • I do not allow drop-offs on Saturdays

  • Drop offs are contactless. I have a drop off station with vases ready for you.

  • How to get to the drop off station: Walk through the white gate, step onto the deck, and on the right is the wooden drop off station. If paying in cash or check, there is a white dropbox for payments.

  • If running early / late, please contact me via text.

SHIPPING:

If you are not local, the bouquet will need to be shipped. If you have a wedding on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, I would recommend sending out your bouquet on Monday. To ensure the best results, overnight or 1 day shipping is recommended. You are responsible for the cost of shipping (it can cost $75-$125).

If your wedding falls on Monday- Thursday, I'd recommend sending the following day.

I will send a shipping document with exactly how to ship your flowers once booked.

How do I secure my date?

Under the “Get in Touch” tab, please submit the information requested. Once I have had a chance to review availability, I will reach out to you to confirm your date. I typically respond within 3 business days, please check your spam / junk mailbox if you haven’t heard back.

Once your date is confirmed, I will send you information on how to fill out the questionnaire tab. Once you complete it, I will send you an inspo google doc page back with inspo and pricing. I do require a 25% non-refundable deposit to secure your date.

I take a limited amount of bouquets per weekend so I highly recommend booking ahead of time. The busiest months are June, September, and October. If I am available, I absolutely will take on last minute bookings, but there is a $25 fee if booking after your wedding.

How long does the process take?

Estimated turn around time is 12-16 weeks, depending on the season. Busy season is May to November. Hours of work is spent on your flowers and I will send the flowers as soon as I am able, but please note I am a one woman show at Cora’s Creations. My husband makes the custom wood frames and I do all of the communication, clerical work, designing, and processing of the bouquets.

What’s the process of preserving?

Once the bouquet is received the preservation process begins, which is why payment is due at fresh bouquet drop off. I dry the flowers for resin flowers in silica gel. For pressed pieces I Implement traditional presses. Many flowers are taken apart petal by petal and once dried are glued back together. Drying typically takes 2-8 weeks.

Once your flowers are dried, the designing process begins. I do design based off of the order of bouquets received. I use your questionnaire to design the flowers to your preference. A preview will only be sent if specifically requested on the questionnaire. Design proofs are for main pieces only, not add-ons.

How much flowers should I bring?

In most cases I recommend dropping off just your bouquet. Typically this will be enough for your main piece and potentially a couple small add-ons. If you have multiple pieces or a lot of add-ons, I would recommend bringing an extra bridesmaid bouquet or centerpiece to ensure I have enough.

Can you add anything to your piece that’s not just flowers?

YES! I encourage it! Feel free to add pictures of your day, invitations, bouquet ribbons. Let's make this piece original and something to cherish.

Will my flowers last forever after the preservation process?

Pressed: Every effort is put in to keep the original color and beauty of the flower. Please keep in mind that flower aging is natural and colors will fade overtime. It is recommended to keep your preserved flowers out of direct sunlight and humid areas.

Resin: As for resin pieces, please keep in mind that resin will age overtime. It is normal to experience ambering/ yellowing over time. Cora’s Creations utilizes high quality material manufaturted in the USA and have been in business over over 30+ years. The resin implements UV inhibitors to help minimize aging.

Caring for your resin pieces are just as important as the pouring protocol for resin.

  • Keep resin away from direct sunlight and heat sources. A few common places to avoid: heat vents, in front of windows, underneath lamps. Another example, if you ordered ornaments, keep your ornaments separate from your Christmas decorations stored in attic where temperatures will reach above 80 degrees.

  • To clean your blocks, use mild soap with water and wipe with a soft microfiber cloth to prevent scratches.

Color expectations:

Your flowers will change during the preservation process. Listed below are common changes that occur. I personally love the details / veining in the natural pressing process. I do offer color correcting for white flowers, but do not offer other color corrections. I do not want the flowers to look “painted”

White: presses ivory / vintage white

quicksand roses (light blush): press more grey / pink

Bright colors such as yellow, oranges, hot pink: typically retain their color well

Burgundy / dark red / purple: press darker and deeper

Greenery: retains color

If there is browning starting on your flowers at drop off, it will show the browning when pressed.

Flowers that I cannot press: white chrysanthemums, berries, artificial flowers, brunia, fruit / veggies, and pinecones.

Pick-up after your flowers are complete:

I offer $25 off of your order if the frame is picked up (it also ensures your fragile flowers gets to you safely!) I do ask that you pick-up your order within 2 weeks of completions I get life happens so please communicate with me otherwise there will be a holding / storage fee after two weeks.
